Quality arts and crafts in the heart of the Garden Route
Ngamathuba is a unique open-air market in beautiful surroundings, just opposite the Wilderness Hotel in Wilderness in the heart of the Garden Route, where one can enjoy browsing through stalls with quality arts and crafts for sale directly from South African and international artists and craftsmen.
The Ngamathuba arts and crafts market is open every first and third Sunday of each month at the village commonage in Wilderness opposite the Wilderness Hotel, from 9:30 to 15:00.
Unique arts and crafts from South Africa, as well as abroad
The Ngamathuba Arts and Crafts Market is a unique melting pot of crafting trends, hand crafted items, pottery, unique gifts, different art work, fashion designs, and rare antiques and collectables.
On display you will find various forms of fused glass work, wooden crafts, handmade carpets, wire products, jewellery, paintings, wood-turning, photography and more.
Meet local artists and crafts people
Ngamathuba provides the opportunity for local artists and crafts people to exhibit in a delightful open-air setting. This friendly market, with the motto "International Opportunities in the Garden of Eden", provides a very special opportunity for visitors to meet the artists and makers of beautiful crafts, discuss their work, and to purchase their unique products directly from them.
A real feeling of Ubuntu prevails among the various contributors of Ngamathuba, and this adds to the success of the venture.
Get your groove on
To liven things up, music acts are offered the chance to display their musical skills whenever a market is held.
Pictured here is the band 'Past Tense' getting their groove on and entertaining the market goers.
